A recent policy change at the Milwaukee County House of Corrections has led to the re-introduction of “electronic monitoring” for those convicted of OWI or other misdemeanor offenses. Electronic monitoring, sometimes called “the bracelet” allows non-violent offenders to serve their jail time at home and at work. To be eligible, the sentencing court must allow Huber privileges at sentencing.
Because the policy change is relatively new, the protocol and procedures are still evolving.
