Sooner or later it will happen – you’ll get a traffic ticket. Besides the inconvenience, there are financial repercussions of receiving any citation with any number of demerit points for your license. Your insurance company will likely increase your premiums.
To make sure you keep your insurance costs as low as possible, I recommend you fight any ticket your receive – at least to the point of receiving a “standard reduction.” This is the “plea deal” you will receive just for contesting the ticket at your initial appearance.
